Survey Comments
- The location is not the problem, it’s the day of the week. I would like to attend but I work in clinton and begin at 7:30. Earlier or a saturday and I’m in.
- Let’s keep this going as it is a grand thing to have in Knoxville. The location is ideal to me, but that being said, I would rather change the locale than have the breakfast cease to be.
- Thanks for putting on this excellent social event for Knoxville geeks!
- Your survey requires a check on a date that is NOT good for us… it’s possible that there are no days that are not good, but I had to check one, so I picked Mondays :-)
- The survey would be better if we could fill in text. For instance, on #12, I would have said sometimes. I had absolutely zero interest in attending a Geek breakfast in possibly the non-geekiest section of Knoxville. The downtown/UT area seems to be to be a) more centrally located and b) much hipper, geekier, say what you will. An IHOP in Farragut definitely turned me off.
- It’s always a colorful group of people. :-) Hey, maybe we can do a round of gadget show-and-tell.
- I live in Johnson City so it’s quite a haul for me to attend, I keep meaning to, however. Probably won’t ever be a regular, at least at this point.
- Thanks for all your efforts. I’ve just had too much on my tray at work to make the meetings. I’m getting more help and I can perhaps begin to attend.
- I’m starting a new job in a couple of weeks so all of the above may be null and void depending upon my new employer.
- Don’t take peoplese pictures and post them. That really bugged me. I wanted to be a geek at breakfast… but photos of me in a hat are not cool where I work.
- How about lunch instead? I’m a self-employed night owl and would be very likely to attend every month if it were lunch vice breakfast.
- Thank you for asking for our input!

Survey

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

We’ve been getting feedback that we need to reconsider our meeting location so more people can attend the monthly breakfast. Some also believe we should change the meeting day.

In an attempt to quantify your input, I’ve created this short survey. Please take a few minutes to complete it. I’d like to use the results to determine our meeting date and location for April, so time is of the essence.

We’ll discuss this further at breakfast tomorrow, which will be held at the IHOP on Lovell Road, 7:30 a.m.

Thanks for your input.

Collecting Food Items for Second Harvest

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

When we first started the Geek Breakfast in Knoxville we established a practice of collecting non-perishable food items for Second Harvest food bank. Over the summer we discontinued the practice for no good reason. We just sort of stopped doing it.

Today one of our fellow geeks, Paul Simmons, suggested we reinstate this practice and he offered to deliver the goods in my absence (I’ll be on vacation the week of November’s breakfast). I think it’s a great idea and so I’m asking each of you attending this month’s breakfast to participate.

The food items most needed by our community food bank are canned tuna and peanut butter, however any non-perishable item in your pantry will do. The bottom line is that whatever you bring will help feed someone who’s hungry. That’s what really matters.

Welcome to this new Geek Breakfast site.

The kind folks in Nashville have created this awesome site for the Knoxville Geek Breakfast. Join us this month on the 22nd. We meet at the IHOP on Lovell Road in Knoxville. This is on the west side of town near Turkey Creek.
